Inspiration Insider: Eloise from Exercise For Extra Fries

We have Eloise from Exercise For Extra Fries (how frickin' cool is her blogname?!?) for our next edtion of Inspiration Insider. I get to know Eloise from Instagram and I love her balance when it comes to eating and of course her amazing transformation (See for yourself in the picture below!) !

Without further ado, lets move on to the Q&A!

Inspiration Insider: Eloise from Exercise For Extra Fries

1.Tell me a little about yourself and your blog.

My name's Eloise and I've only recently started up my blog. I have been on a journey to health since early last year, but have only recently developed a real sense of pride and excitement about it. I absolutely love my lifestyle at the moment, and wanted to share it with everyone!

2. How did you get into the world of health and fitness and find your way to where you currently are?

Early last year my weight was at an all time high, as was my boyfriend's. We were both gym members, but never went. We decided to book in some personal training sessions and smarten up our act! It was there at The Shed Fitness I was introduced to macro counting. For about a year I puttered along, doing PT sessions and doing my best at macro counting. I was definitely seeing changes, and was starting to feel good!

Then, earlier this year it was like a motivation switch flicked on!! Overnight I became so passionate about macro counting, even meal planning for my boyfriend and a few friends. This, along with my new found motivation in the gym, fuelled my weight loss. It became very addictive - in the best way!

3. Take us through a day in your life. (Instagram worthy shots welcome. :P)

Most days I have a personal training session with Jaime at JBPersonalTraining, but I also work in group boxing classes, Bowral park runs and the (very rare) dabble in beginners yoga. I also work on my fitness goals at home which this week include planks, toe push ups and headstands.

I plan my meals the night before, so I know what I'm going to eat the following day. I ensure that my days are full of wholesome, nutritionally dense foods, as well as some foods that many people won't eat for fear of being 'naughty'. For me, the perfect balance is including ice cream, lollies or chocolate into my plans everyday.

4. Do you have a favourite homemade/ to-go-to recipe you would like to share with us? OR What's your favourite workout to move your body.

I'll tell you both!

Shakshouka

Ingredients

  • 1 onion
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 capsicum
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tin tomato
  • Tablespoon of tomato paste
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Paprika
  • Cayenne
  • Cumin

Instructions

  1. Fry off onion and garlic in spray of oil
  2. Add capsicum
  3. Add tomato paste
  4. Add tin of tomatoes and spices, and cook for 10 minutes (the longer you cook the more the flavour will develop - but 10 minutes does the job)
  5. Crack eggs on top and cover with lid until eggs are cooked as preferred

My favourite workouts are my high intensity interval training (HIIT) sessions with Jaime. My boyfriend and I do these in a joint session on a Friday night or Saturday morning. I love that they are different everytime. They always leave me hot and sweaty, and feeling on top of the world!

They might consist of rowing, cycling, running, box jumps, squat jumps, scissor lunges, burpees, push ups... Anything!

2km bike sprint/50 box jumps

1.6km bike sprint/40 box jumps

1.2km bike sprint/30 box jumps

0.8km bike sprint/20 box jumps

0.4km bike sprint/10 box jumps

12 minute AMRAP:

20 thrusters

20 kettlebell swings

We left feeling exhausted, and fantastic!

5. What is your view on health & fitness? Do you live by any particular food or training philosophy?

I believe in macro counting and the IIFYM principle. I feel as though flexible dieting was made for me!

I think that counting macros is far much more effective than calorie counting. Breaking food down into its protein, carbohydrate and fat values is what works for me. Each day I eat loads of fresh veggies, eggs, nuts and cheese (I am vegetarian), as well as something delicious like a reeses peanut butter cup or a tim tam!! Balance is my key to health.

My training philosophy is to train often and train hard. I do a mixture of weight training, HIIT and LISS. I enjoy them all!

6. What tip or advice would you give to anyone who is looking to live a healthier and fitter life?

Just love food! Find a balance in what you eat and don't be scared of 'naughty' foods! Find a way to stay active that you enjoy. Love what you do, love what you eat, and love you!

7.  Pluggin time! All your social media channels for some stalking actions and of course any exciting projects/ offers you would like to share with Eat This Burn That's readers?
