#TravelTuesday - Melbourne, Australia
In the midst of researching and planning for travelling in the coming months, the idea of a #TravelTuesday segment popped up and it is going to be pretty legendary because I will share the top places to enjoy (a) wholesome meal(s) and activities to do to stay active and burn those food babies off! #EatThis and #BurnThat ;)
EXPLORE: MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA
Of course, we would have to kickstart the #TravelTuesday series with our good ol' neighbour Melbourne! I took Mr ETBT to Melbourne for his birthday and thought I should share my 2d1n experience with you whilst it's still somewhat fresh in my memory (or should I say photo album :P).
Where we stayed: Crown Promenade
Crown Promenade Melbourne8 Whiteman Street, Southbank Victoria 3006 Australia
I got us a Standard room at Crown Promenade and it was amazing! Room was pretty big and I love how we close we are to all activities - there's tonnes of restaurants, pub and bars I just wish I had more time to check out the facilities, especially the infinity pool and gym! Well, there is always next time ;)
Gardi, Crown Casino, Melbourne
Gradi at CrownShop 25, 8 Whiteman StreetSouthbank Victoria 3006
Deemed as one of the best Napoleon woodfire pizza in town, Gardi is a must try when you visit Melbourne town if pizza is your best friend! Generous serving, reasonably priced and great service - nothing to complain but a big belly! Definitely recommended!
Mart 130, Middle Park
107A CANTERBURY ROAD MIDDLE PARK, VIC, 3206
When in Melbourne, you brunch - this is the unspoken rule! I have been wanting to try out Mart 130 since forever and I am glad to finally have the chance to do so! Sitting at the cosy verandah (albeit a tad chilly!), I witnessed Melbourne's 4 seasons weather in a day within an hour whilst devouring their scrumptious food! Although the boyfriend and I were pretty stuffed from our mains, we couldn't go past their French Toast and boy, was it worth every single calories! We did redeem ourselves with lotsa walking throughout the day though! :)
Take a walk along Yarra River (from Southbank into Melbourne CBD).
Whilst it can be tempting at times to hop on the free tram to get into the city, take Bus 11 (ie walking) instead. You get to enjoy the gorgeous view of the city and Southbank. :)
Visit Queen Victoria Market for some local delicacies and wholesome produce!
Instead of catching the tram, take a short walk to Flagstaff Gardens, which is a few blocks away from Queen Victoria Market!
Melbourne has definitely grown on me over the past couple of years. I went from this place is too hipster for me/ it is only good for a short break to I wouldn't mind moving here! But for now, Sydney is still home :) Are you team Melbourne or Sydney?
Hope you enjoyed my very first edition of #TravelTuesday and it's structure! IF there is any additional information you would like to see on the #TravelTuesday posts, simply leave a comment below and let me know and I will work around it! Otherwise, share with me your favourite #EatThis places & #BurnThat activities in Melbourne and I will definitely pop that on my list!
